Beer plus leis plus cupcakes plus one adorable little child in a pink grass skirt equals one hell of a first birthday. Yes, the celebration got out of hand, as many first birthday’s do. But we all had a good time. And I took a very long nap afterward.
Many thanks to Teresa for taking such great shots for us! You can see the whole set (there are a TON more) here.
“How many men do you know are going to walk into store parking lots from now on wondering whether they’ll be snatched and their lifeless body left in the woods? Mugged, maybe. Guys worry about that. But not grabbed and disposed of like garbage. That only happens to men in a hellhole like Baghdad. Whereas, every woman I know lives each day as if what happened to Kelsey Smith could happen to her. It’s terrorism on a universal scale.”

As you all know, I’ve been working on a redesign of this site for a while. If you didn’t know, then you’re really not paying any attention because I bitch about it CONSTANTLY. My biggest problem is I have a teeny tiny, itty bitty, scope of knowledge about code and CSS in general. I have made huge strides in my design knowledge, which hopefully you’ll soon see evidence of on this site, but I can’t get my totally rad designs on this site without a programmer to do the more complicated bits of code. My other problem is since we’ve switched publishing platforms, I find myself trolling around the backend of this site trying to figure out what the hell I’m doing on a semi-daily basis. Then I pound my head against the faux wall of my cubicle and take a nap. Not really.
Hopefully I can get some updates done this weekend. But more realisticly, because of that baby that I have (who, in my opinion, needs to learn some CSS, because she’s really not pulling her financial weight around here), come Monday, this site will still be ugly. Apologies all around.
Happy Friday, everyone!
