    What I Got

    20061029 22:36

Lately I’ve been feeling a bit depressed, a bit low. I’m not sure what really brought it on, probably a combination of new motherhood and exhaustion. I know many new mothers go through this, but as I hadn’t really experienced it, I was caught offgaurd. I started to feel kind of worthless, like what I do every day is easy, unimportant, boring, and the like.

Then a chain of events began that changed my thoughts. I won’t go into detail, but some things happened that took my mind off of how I was feeling, and made me realize how lucky I really am. Then today it was 75 degrees outside and I went for a great walk and had some time with my husband and carved pumpkins for Halloween. And it just all seemed right.

So, for now, I’m pretty happy. And even though I know I’ll probably feel crappy again, I know that I’ll feel happy again too. And when I walk into Lucy’s room in the morning and she sees me and starts cracking up, I know that happy feeling will never be too far away.

    Upgrade

    20061028 16:43

As I’ve mentioned before, the last month or so we at Crazy Bananas headquarters have been in the process of upgrading this site. This included a couple of design changes, along with brand new elements. And when I say we, I mean I tell Trent to do something and he does it for me. That, my friends, is how I became the one who wears the pants in this relationship. A couple of days ago I asked my future millionaire husband if there was any way we could add an audio element to the site. Given that daily I am asking him for new things on the site, I didn’t think anything would come of it. But today he showed me a new section on the sidebar called Megan’s Music. He uploaded a few of my favorite tunes and you all can play them straight from the site. If you have any suggestions for new music, please let me know, as I’m not very cool and I’m always looking for new music.

Oh, and Space Cowboy was Trent’s addition. I refuse to take credit for that one.

    Rant, rant, rant

I’ve been dreading this day for several weeks. Today I had to go to the evil hell known as the dentist. I don’t think I can describe in mere words how much I HATE going to the dentist. I’ve started this ongoing cycle where I go to the dentist, they tell me I have a bunch of crap wrong with my teeth, I have a horrific experience getting everything fixed, then I don’t go back for a year or two out of fear. By the time I go back, there’s even more wrong with my teeth and the process starts all over.

I’ve hated the dentist since I can remember. My parents never really took me when I was younger, and the first time I went was just terrible. I was ten and then dumb-ass’ arm slipped drilling down my gums. Yeah, after that I was prety much NEVER going to the damn dentist again.

But today, after much annoying prodding (ahem, nagging) by my husband, I finally went under the drill again. And now my mouth is swollen and I am grumpy and drugged up enough that I am actually watching the new Real World/Road Rules challenge on MTV.

I need a bottle of wine and mashed potatoes. So if anyone has those on hand, please send them on over.

I wish my dog could do this

Lately I’ve been receiving some unpleasant comments about how I do not update this site enough. Well, that’s true, but mostly because I’m tired and when I’m tired I don’t feel very funny. And unless I’m feeling funny, odds are I’m not going to be writing on this site. Today I am feeling particularly not funny, probably because this morning I watched three 6 year old children and the baby. Did I mention that I AM TIRED? So I’ve been aimlessly wandering around the Internet for the past…holy shit, I guess the past 30 minutes….didn’t realize it had been so long, anyway, I rediscovered a video that I saw last week of a dog balancing spaghetti noodles on his head. And I must mention that they are noodles, not noddles, because I’ve just spelled that word wrong about four times in a row. Maybe they should be called noddles…that word seems funnier, and we know I’m all about the funny.

So click here for some funny. Even though the funny does not really belong to me, it belongs to her. Yep, I’m linking to her again. I’m whoring out funnier websites for my own gain. Yea for me.

    Lemmings Are Cool

As all seven of you that read this site know, I’ve finally jumped off the cliff and joined Facebook. For anyone else out there, like maybe my mother, who don’t know what Facebook is, it is basically My Space for college kids (yeah, because my mother will understand that comparison) and it has now opened up to the rest of the Internet population. I joined because I just didn’t feel that I was exploiting myself or my family enough on the Internet. Now there are two places where people can go to read about my boobs.

Speaking of my boobs and Facebook, today the two joined forces. Again, another reason why I shouldn’t have joined, but nothing I can do about it now. Pictures have officially been posted of Hayley’s wedding and the aftermath, which included some crazy dance off’s.

Here’s a sweet photo to illustrate this fact:

Now that looks like a circle of fun. Or as the owner of the photo captioned it (thanks Dustin) “Chicken noodle soup, chicken noodle soup, chicken noodle soup and a soda on the side.”

Must point out the fabulous mustached Doug Coleman, father of Hayley. He is not a fireman.
